Protect The Classroom

D
id you know that in the 1970s, there were 2.5 teachers for every non-teacher on our school payrolls in Texas? And that today, the ratio is 1:1. If we had 3 teachers for every 2 non-teachers, Texas could save $3.3 billion in short order.

Meanwhile, as an ever-growing number of administrators receive six-figure salaries and correspondingly large bonuses, it’s those same administrators who are threatening teacher layoffs.

Education spending per student in Texas has grown nearly twice the rate of inflation over the past decade. The money is there. It’s just not being spent wisely. Administrators prefer lavish pay, retreats, and amenities, to the basics in the classroom. This is simply unsustainable, especially with Texas balancing its budget with lower projected revenues over the next two-year budget cycle than in the last biennium.
That’s where Protect the Classroom comes in:

Franklin Strategy Group turned around the web design and video for Protect the Classroom in just a few days.

Stay tuned for more great content in the coming days and weeks. Texas’ future depends on getting this right.
